Description
The Yaquina Bay Bridge is an arch bridge that spans Yaquina Bay south of Newport, Oregon. It is one of the most recognizable of the U.S. Route 101 bridges designed by Conde McCullough. Work on the Yaquina Bay Bridge began on August 1, 1934. When it was completed on September 6th, 1936, it and the Golden Gate Bridge were the final parts comleted of U.S Highway 101, developed by President Roosevelt for his Public Works Projects to help get America on it's feet during the Great Depression.
